PREPARE TO GET PUZZLED IT IS TIME FOR A CHALLENGE!

You are about to be connected to the Quad Core project (mentally that is). This is a mind-boggling puzzle game, in which tests you to your limit. The QC console has set up a series of 32 different colour code-breaking challenges. All you need to do is extinguish all of the lights on each puzzle. The first few levels will start easy but as you progress onward. The levels will gradually get more difficult or then again, maybe not. All you need to do is work out the correct path in order to switch off every single light on the QC console. You also have a set time in order to complete each stage.

CONTROLLING THE QC CONSOLE

Move the cursor around the screen, and select one of the buttons on the console. If the fire button is pressed, the other lights adjacent to the central light will also change. There are 4 different colours which the lights will cycle through (in the following order):

Black (Switched off)
Cyan (Strong)
Purple (Medium)
Red (Weak)

Every RED light turns into black, CYAN turns into purple, PURPLE turns into RED and so on!

The early set of levels are easy enough to solve, but progress further, there will be some additional stages which could really test how clever you are at these type of games.

AWARDING POINTS:

In order to score points. You need to complete a level. Points are awarded for every level complete. The score varies, depending on how much time remains after completing a level. For every second, a series of points are added to the score panel. Scoring is crucial as you could get a place in the top 5 high score table.

BECOMING A SORE LOSER:

The game is lost every time the clock strikes 0:00. Should this event occur, you will lose a try. You have a limit of 4 re-tries, before the game is over. After the game over prompt, you score is worked out automatically. It is also checked for an existing high score. Should your score be higher than the high score table. Your current score becomes one of the new high scores in the hi score table. (Displayed on the front end).

Your score will automatically be recorded after completing the game as well.

BEATING THE GAME:

In order to complete the game, you have to complete all 32 levels. BE WARNED This might take AGES to solve every single puzzle in the set stages. It depends on how brainy you really are. If you complete this game, you will be rewarded an ending :)

THE EDITOR:

As well playing the game. You can also make brand new easy (or mentally challenging) levels to challenge your friends, family or the C64 Scene in general (Although, if you do make new levels, we don't expect to see multiple cracked first releases of this game :D). F1 Set time (Minutes) (Max mins digit = 2)
F3 Set time (Seconds) (Max secs digit = 59)
F5 Enter disk / tape menu
F7 Test current level (This is handy to test whether your challenge is too difficult or too easy, or just right.)
RUN/STOP Store all levels and exit to the title screen.

DURING LEVEL TESTING MODE, RUN/STOP will take you back to the game editor.

At any time, should you wish to re-install the default levels that were pre-installed into this game. Simply press the RESTORE key.
